What Are You Drinking?
The RSP family is celebrating September National Bourbon Month with some old school classics and new gems.
First thing is first even before we think of ordering a cocktail is understanding what exactly is bourbon? Not all bourbons are the same, some may be a bit Spicer or sweeter. This doesn't make one better than the next its all on the individuals palate and preference.
Must be made from a mash (the base mixture of grain and water) that is at least 51% corn. Remainder can be Rye, wheat or malted barley.
Must be aged in new charred oak barrels for at least 2 years.
Must be bottles at a minimum of 40 ABV
Below are a few of my fav. bourbons.
-Bullit 10 year old
-Tuthiltown Baby Bourbon
Now that you have received your booze education you can feel confident when ordering your next classic cocktail.
1 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
